Complex injuries and rehabilitation needs
Our team also works with people whose rehabilitation needs arise from complex trauma, amputation, orthopaedic injury, prolonged hospital admission or a combination of physical, cognitive and psychological difficulties.
This may include people experiencing:
- Reduced mobility or difficulty walking
- Weakness, stiffness or spasticity

Specialist pathways
Some conditions benefit from a more structured and coordinated rehabilitation approach.
Our specialist pathways bring together the relevant clinicians around the individual, with assessment and treatment planned across disciplines where required.
Our Functional Neurological Disorder pathway supports people experiencing symptoms such as functional weakness, movement changes, tremor, seizures, fatigue, pain or difficulties with walking and balance.
The pathway may involve neurophysiotherapy, neuro occupational therapy, neuropsychology and other specialist input, depending on the person’s needs.

A diagnosis can provide important clinical information, but it does not fully describe how a person is affected.
